Paulina Villarreal Featured in Handel’s Messiah at Indiana University

Mezzo-soprano Paulina Villarreal joined the Indiana University Symphony Orchestra and Chorus for a performance of Handel’s Messiah on December 9, 2025, at Auer Concert Hall.

Conducted by Dominick DiOrio, the annual Messiah Sing-Along brought together faculty, students, and the IU musical community for selections from Handel’s celebrated oratorio. Villarreal was featured in Part I, performing “But who may abide the day of His coming,” “Behold, a virgin shall conceive,” and “O thou that tellest good tidings to Zion.”

The performance also featured fellow vocal soloists Thomas Cooley, Kelly Markgraf, Laura Looper, Katharine Schwab, Bryce Zimmerman, and Robert Erickson.
